DUOBAND

Dmitry Blinov had no plans to become a chef. However, at the age of 17 he accidentally found himself in the kitchen. From that moment on he developed a passion for cooking and, at the age of 22, he became a professional chef.

In 2014, at the age of 27, Dmitry and his partner Chef Renat Malikov opened DUO Gastrobar in St. Petersburg. The restaurant immediately attracted a large number of guests and in its second year it was announced to be the best in St. Petersburg
by WhereToEat restaurant award.

Since then the main goal and motivation of the company has been to make people's lives brighter, make guests happier, and give employees a chance to fulfil their potential and experience the joy of their work.

In 2015 Dmitry opened Tartarbar, as a tribute to his passion for cooking tartar and offal. This restaurant was challenging industry with its traditional and boring standards. Two years later, in 2017, Dmitry surprised everyone with the opening of DUO Asia, a pan-Asian restaurant in St. Petersburg that offered an ironic approach to Asian cuisine.
In 2018 Dmitry attended the Madrid Fusion gastronomic event. After that Harvest, the first vegetarian restaurant in St. Petersburg, was open. Harvest is based on the principles of sustainable consumption. 
Half a year after the launch Harvest was ranked #92 in the World's Best Restaurants list. At the same time Tartarbar and DUO were listed in the Best Discovery guide.

At the end of 2020 Dmitry successfully launched the Italian bistro named Oggi. In 2021 two more projects were open: Frantsuza Bistro, that offers modern French cuisine, and Sage, DUO’s first long-awaited restaurant in Moscow.

In August 2023 together with his team Dmitry launched DUO's first international project - DUO Gastrobar in Dubai. The second DUO Gastrobar was open in November 2024 in Dubai as well.
After a three-year break, in January 2025, a new gastronomic meat restaurant called Reborn, was open in St. Petersburg.

Today DUOband numbers 10 restaurants and the company is successfully growing. All this thanks to the constant expanding of the team of like-minded people. Not only is Dmitry the ideologist but also the CEO of the company. He manages to create and launch new menus together with his chefs and managers.

Dmitry believes the formation of a strong team to be the most significant achievement. Many employees advanced professionally within the company and took executive positions. Each being an example of what hard work, dedication and confidence can lead to. Additionally, there are thousands of satisfied guests, whose lives have become brighter by the gastronomic experiences they were offered in DUOband restaurants.
